Red Bull actually, okay it's not exactly cheap (between 80p to a pound fifty), but it does help to get you going for a bit.

the higher the octane number the cleaner it burns. same amount of CO2, but less particulates. However I suspect more energy is used to refine it.
when it comes to who you buy it from, there's little difference IMO. All involved in morally dubious behaviour.
