i hate myself for loving them so much. look way better separated like that. that's me decided... i'm getting myself tattooed in neon colours, each limb different, with black finishing kit (shoes, belt and hat).

I don't mind the neon bikes so much - I mean, they're fun - but I think this whole Benedict Radcliffe x fixedgearlondon artist collabo branding thing is a tiny bit pretentious. I mean, they're just neon bikes. They're fun. They ain't art.

i disagree
have you seen them in real life? -

i disagree
have you seen them in real life?I guess they're art is someone thinks they are.
Doesn't make them good art though (although that is, of course, subjective).

Is that a sprayed chain? Are they just bike parts sprayed up then? I was kinda hoping they'd got everything (metal) powdercoated.
-
• #4108
Looks like spraypaint here. If its powdercoated its a bit flaky. Looks like it wasn't prepped (degreased) that well -
• #4109
not to everyone liking but I really like this set-up.
You're right - I puked a little ;)

That Benotto is stunning.

Lacks Chain!

its not spray painted
dummy :Pedit: actually the chain might be, I can't remember
-
• #4113
I don't think chain can be powercoated?
-
• #4114
Especially not with spray-can effect results.

Inasmuch as the fact that branding something as art seems, today, to make it art, you're right.
Which'd probably be why animals embalmed by a small army of technicians under the vague direction of Mr Hirst are deemed 'art'.
Of course, I can't figure out what he's commenting on either, beyond observing that there's a sucker born every minute.

I think that is mainly down to the wierd light in the photo
why don't you ask him -
• #4117
oh and also, as Tynan said, the photo's don't really do them justice
the colours are much nicer and more vibrant in real lifethe bikes aren't to everyone's taste, although I really like them
it is cool to see how strongly some people react though
and if only for making something so stiking and provokative as these are proving to be, benedict deserves some major credit, IMO -

dk is that yours? beauty.
also where have yo been recently?
and finally is that near charlotte st?Nah, not mine... it belongs to Kimberly who works at Cyclefit. It has taken almost two years to build the bike and was only finished a few days ago. We suspect she's going to make a few changes straight away, that bar tape doesn't quite match, and neither do the flashes of orange on the underside of the saddle.
The frame is a custom full titanium. The paint is obviously custsom. She's gone for the same spoke pattern and Sapim CX-Ray spokes as I have. She's riding tubs. It's all bling really.
And I've been working. Far far too much. Last month I billed for 31 days working averaging 11.5 hours per day. Some days it's been as much as 16 or 17 hours a day. I am exhausted and it's taken a while to recover. The work was a really important piece for a new sector... so it had to go well, and that meant we were killin ourselves for it... the post-mortem of the contract has already happened and it wasn't pretty. Anyhow, we've delivered now, the client is ecstatic with what they have, and so myself and my colleagues can start to pick up our lives again now.
And it's on Macklin St near Covent Garden.

I also love the bikes*, it's original as fuck thought, how many of those fixed-gear bicycle in that colour co-ordination right now in the world? probably that.
I also concur that the photo never do justice when it's fluorescence, a simple shot of a fluorescence item will result in the colour looking brighter and more vivid than it is.
*the multi-colour one in the previous page done by Fixed Gear London.

I'm not sure if we need more or less the same photo in similar composition, 3 or 4 shot is enough to show us enough detail of the bike, not 15 photos!

each to his own and all that but personally I hate those forks. Also the paint job must've taken hours and hours. Can you imagine how careful she'll have to be and how bad she'll feel when it gets the first scratch. Amazingly intricate. Can't say I'd want it though.
I like the track ends though.
edscoble: I'm guessing English isn't your first language, what is? Its just some of your sentence structures are a bit strange and I have to read it twice (no offence meant).

I didn't photograph it, but she already has had the first chip on the top tube. She's touched it up, but it's noticeable. It's just one of those things, I'm pretty sure we've all chipped our dream bikes. Her frame geometry doesn't do it for me, and I'm more impressed by the paint job than loving it... but I do like those forks, and the drops and wheels are just something else.
