hi there-just got a mercian. they built it for me too. I love it and its really top nothc. They are slow and annoyingly old skool. Very unorganised-but as someone else on here told me, if you are patient you will be well pleased. In addition if you travel up they are not snooty and know there stuff inside out. i don't know bob jacksons that well, but would recommend a mercian if u have the patience. i waited 4 months for the build.

I've been waiting a fucking age just for re-enamelling. But yeah they're slo-pros. According to them it takes 5 days just for transfers to dry.

funny how if someone posts "langster or charge plug" they get shot down to the extent that there is a long and very funny thread about how many shit threads of that ilk are at the moment.

Mercian have been pretty quick renovating my Holdsworth - think it took them around a month to do some brazing, re-tracking, new dropout, respray in two colours and fix decals.

Might make my way up to Derby tomorrow to pick it up - the anticipation is killing me. Only problem is that they were so quick to get it done I haven't been paid yet so can't afford it! Hello joint account...

I've been enjoying my Bob for 2 weeks (100 miles or so). It's the smoothest, most comfortable ride, and the frame's light for steel. Much lighter than i expected. From what I can see the OTP 631 track frame from Mercian is basically identical.

Bob Jackson have been helpful and I'd recommend them to anyone. They did however fuck-up by sending me the wrong forks, I posted them back at my expense and had a wait for them to return them. Then when they sent the new ones... they had a big chip out of the paint.

I got the Humbrol out... and built my bike. I wasn't going to piss about any longer. There are pictures of the build here. It's a 21" Vigorelli in Pearl White.

Mercian seem to be putting out better paint jobs than Bob Jackson at the mo, seen a few BJ's with less than perfect finishing recently

they are fine. don't listen to him. If they can handle my 17st of solid muscle, I'm sure you'll be cool.

I weigh nothing. One of the reasons a 631 frame is so good for me.
