  • The Roman Emperoror Agricola, when he visited Britain about two thousand years ago, said we were a bunch of mongrels, barbarians of no discernable origin. And that was before the Romans themselves, Jutes, Saxons, Norse, Angles, Normans, French, Italians, Portuguese, Northern European Jews, Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, West Indians, Turks, Armenians, Kurds, Arabs, Africans, Chinese and Vietnamese had really started to settle here (did I forget anybody?). So Its hard to say that a lot of English are actually French (if that's what that^^ means). We're a total mix up.
