  • If someone broke into your house and didn't steal anything, but left a note to let you know that he'd been there, would he have caused no harm?

My mate's parents live in Southern Spain, a drive away from Gibraltar where they work. One week last year, every house in the street was broken into, with the minimum of fuss and no harm. Weirder still, nothing was taken. In fact, little trinkets were left behind. No one knew what the hell to make of it, and the local police are notoriously unbothered about robbery against Brits. After the final raid on the last house to be broken into, a little note was left warning the street their their security was woeful, and to get better locks and alarms, or they could be cleaned out.

A professional tea-leaf doing it for kicks? No one knows, but apparently they all sorted their shutters/alarms out quicksharp.
