Depends if you mean what Phil Wood calls "road", which have an alloy axle. The "touring" hubs, superficially similar, have a s/steel axle. I have touring hubs on my - er - tourer and they seem maintenance free and indestructible, like the high flange track ones, which I also have. Haven't got any alloy axles.

I would say don't go there, but only because that's what I'm about to build up...

How do they compare with Chris Kings or dura ace?
Everyone here seems to love the track ones..
