I grew up in Dunmow (age 6-18), and went to school in Chelmsford. It was fucking hellish.
Having said that, I still get the odd ride in round those parts. Only last week I did a 100 miler (geared) from Old St, out through Ongar, the Rodings, Dunmow; turned left at Thaxted, went across to Pelham, and then wound my way back down to London through Manuden, Stansted Abbots, blah.
