  • Hey all.
After being blown away at Souths by the novel idea of actually eating with my drinking and being faced with the reality that the current East Drinks Staff / Food isn't nearly as good..
I propose that we move East Drinks to LONDON FIELDS this Wednesday and have a little BYOB PICNIC BBQ instead.

    Is anyone interested??

  • the weather looks shit hot... great idea! I'll be down after polo!

  • Nice idea. Keep it close to the pub though, so people know where to meet. And there is an offy just down the road, on the corner of lauristan rd and viccy park rd. The second roundabout of the TT, for those who know of such things.

  • Can we change the first poll option to "let's take over the park, weather permitting... otherwise we stick to the pub"?

I haven't been to any of the drinks before so I'm hoping to join you guys on Wed...

  • only thing is, jacqui, they close the park at dusk (9 or so)

  • Hi I am new
    What about London Fields?

  • I say we make it within view of the pub, for use of toilets and other such practicalities.
If everyone brings 1thing besides what they want to eat /drink it will be easy.

    We are going to need:
2 -3 disposable BBQs from Tesco
    Sauces
    Tomatos
    Cheese
    Buns
    Crisps

Cuppa T and I (as he's stayin at mine) will bring mustard, mayo, some crisps, paper plates, utensils and one of the BBQs and possibly a salad.

  • only thing is, jacqui, they close the park at dusk (9 or so)

    and the survey says..........

ah, well! I am cool with going to london fields and that can't be closed ;) Cat and Mutton and Pub on the Park are close and there's a Tesco just 3 mins away.

  • Sounds great but as skully said it closes early. We could hit the pub at 9.

  • i am up for a bbq in london fields????

  • not that i do it but what about the TT? if we move to London Fields that is.

  • me too i want to meet other bike people like you!

  • we could do one around london field

  • Jonny, TT around the park? or maybe down and back Broadway market?

  • WIth the new official TT stopwatches!!!

  • i don't mind ladies. like i say i don't do the TT. but broadway market and london fields are in a whole world of busy-ness compared to the victoria park drag.

all cool. i will be there wherever it may be post polo

  • WIth the new official TT stopwatches!!!

My memory isn't fantastic BUT there is a cycle path from Broadway market north through about 2/3 of the park, which you can then go west on another paved path I am fairly sure that there's a third that goes back to Broadway Market.. no idea how long it is, but it could make an excellent little TT

  • i am up for a bbq in london fields????

    why is that a question.

  • your memory is spot on jacqui.

i guess cos i ride through there all the time (live off London Fields) i am just aware how busy it gets. will probably die down by the time people are buzzed up enough to start TTing mind.

    it's all gravy

  • Emily is questioning her own thoughts. Leave her alopne you bully in white pants.

  • Even if we don't do the TT it'll be nice to have a change of scenery and much cheeper rounds. Plus people can arse about on their bikes to their hearts content.

  • thats a heavily used cycle path, cant see people racing on it without someone getting taken out by a bike or ped!!

I'm with jonny, by the time we are looking to TT, there will be almost no one I bet ;)

  • Hipsters only come out after dark! That path stays well busy till the wee hours.
