• Going to pick this up on Saturday. Thinking about getting it powder-coated, polishing up the shiny bits, adding some leather here and there, a brass bell perhaps. Any ideas on colours?

  • looks pretty nice, not much you need to do to that other than 'shine it up.

Use some shoe polish on the seat, ideally dark brown liquid stuff first then clear wax polish (regular KIWI stuff)

    I love polishing leather!

Looks very big, very long also!

Cranks look nice, again just a polish.

If you want a large traditional Dome bell, in chrome to match your freshly polished parts.
I have a few, selling at reasonable prices!

I terms of the powdercoat, I really wouldnt. The finish used on old road bikes is a lot better than a budget powder coat. A nice hard green enamel with a bit of pearlescent depth, goes perfectly with the leather. Looks in good condition too. Touch up the few nicks, and buff it up with some T-cut etc

Maybe some heavy trimming just to sharpen it up a bit.

  • Yeah, chuffed with this. I'm after a wooden crate for the rack, then this is going to be my "pop-to-the-shop" bike.

  • I love polishing leather!

Did I just hear you volunteering?
