Did it once. Heading along a cycle path I rolled up to a crossing over a dual carriageway, tapped the brakes to stop and casually reached out grab the "Cyclists Dismount" sign. Alas it was not secured into the ground at all and gravity kicked in.
The ignominy hasn't left me to this day.
