  • jus wondering has anyone dropped off there bike with there feet stuck in thr cages ? ? ?

forgot to loosen the straps today

  • Yes. Everyone.

If you've never had a 0kph stack you are not a real cyclist and should keep trying.

  • yes, done it in clipless and straps, i just have to achieve it in flat pedals now.

  • Twice for me. First time I was angry because I hurt my hand, second time I was laughing because I may possibly have been tipsy and a guy beeped at me as he drove past.

  • Ahhh. Yes, And with an audience of motorists at a set of trafic lights.

  • I did it in my first week of riding fixed. I was slightly TPD'd (Two Pint Drunk) and pulled up to a bloke on a Brompton, trackstanded for a couple of seconds until I realised I was unable to get my feet out the straps and sloowwwwwly toppled over.

It was on a road leading into Oxford st and bloke on Brompton and a group of Japanese tourists gathered around to check if I was ok, really properly concerned about my well-being. I couldn't stop laughing at myself.

  • once. did'nt touch the ground though as i was able to cling to the shoulder of some officekindofdude who was talking in his phone while waiting for the green.
    apologized, laughed and left.
must have been his most strange experience that day.

  • I haven't done it yet it clipless. I rode clips for 3 hours and fell 3 times. FAIL. I'm back on clipless now.

  • wat did the bike look like cos i did that earlier .........

  • Did it yesterday, being all cool at Glasgow's underwhelming River Festival - gf found it pretty funny, at least.

  • think ive achieved this three times in my life...

1st time was after 100 miles got to some traffic lights sitting in front of a bus and as i went to disengage, my leg cramped and couldn't get out, hit the deck, and laughed

2nd time i rode onto a car park on a beach, turned out it was pure sand, i sank, really quickly, and laughed.

third time i ran out of balance whilst track standing after east drinks when someone beeped at me.

    all essential learning experiences,

  • In front of tourists one fine Sunday in Maida Vale, distracted by the various colours of the leaves by the canal. It's the lack of drama that kills you. The worried yummy mummy saying, "Are you all right?"

  • all essential learning experiences

    +1

  • I managed to ride clipless for months before my first topple, but when I got the Surly I fell off three times on the first day. (Toe overlap.) And each time was at a busy junction when I was trying to look cool. And one time I got tangled up in the bike and couldn't get up for about a minute. When I embarrass myself, I do it properly.

yes, done it in clipless and straps, i just have to achieve it in flat pedals now.

My mother's done that. (She was drunk.)

  • dale did it on the oxford ride

  • Did it once. Heading along a cycle path I rolled up to a crossing over a dual carriageway, tapped the brakes to stop and casually reached out grab the "Cyclists Dismount" sign. Alas it was not secured into the ground at all and gravity kicked in.

The ignominy hasn't left me to this day.

  • yes way to many times. i've gotten into the habit of uncliping before .junctions now even if i'm going to trackstand just to be on the safe side.i don't like to make myself look like a fool all though i am very good at it.

  • Ahhh, the 0mph crash. I always start laughing lots when I do.

The worried yummy mummy saying, "Are you all right?"

Haha, I always get someone, usually female, come running up to me when it happens.

  • dale did it on the oxford ride

and landed on me, the cnut. I should send him a bill for the privilege of touching my bike.

  • Toppled over on Grays Inn Rd once, wearing cleats and straps. It was Sunday, very little traffic about and I had the straps were as tight as I could get them.
Couldn't reach strap so lay in the gutter for about 5 mins until a nice pedestrian wandered by and released me.

Anyone want to buy a pair of Cinnelli M71, they're great for practising your 0mph crasshes

  • Never, prove it, no chance, and the first time i rode fixed i didn't shoot up in the air when i forgot to pedal... you cant make an omelet without breaking some eggs.

  • ^^^Me either, I never fall off...^^^

Everyone who comes to Tuesday Tricks tonight has to wear really dark glasses, right? And if they see someone who looks like me falling off, then they shouldn't have drunk so much...

    Are we clear?

    You win.

  • once, caused by toe over lap

  • once, at some lights in the wet. I had just been congratulating myself on how I'd got nearly all the way home without getting too wet and went over whilst 'trackstanding'. Got soaked and laughed at by a bus driver. It was very funny, I bet I would have laughed harder if I'd seen the look on my face as I passed the point of no return.
