why is it that whenever we get messed up on our bikes its never our fault. when I ride I'm mainly positioned middle of the road, so I can always see exactly what's going on. we get shouted at and beeped for winging it round traffic and shooting lights. but if your a good rider then all these things can be done perfectly safely. last thursday whilst delivering my last package of the day, I was hacking it down the cycle lane on new gate street, then bang.a passenger in a van opened his door to get out without looking first. next thing I know I'm laying 2m away on the floor. I now can't walk or move the right side of my body. probably for at least 2 weeks. the guy couldn't stop appologising, but that aint gonna help me get back on the road. no more cycle lanes for me. I'm sticking to my suposedly sketchy middle of the road riding.
