• I just received this email from Garry Becket (who organizes the Bec hillclimb amongst other things), and thought I'd spread the word...

    Ladies & Gents,

Please forgive this intrusion, but I need to ask all of you for your help.

Within the past 2 hours, James McCallum of the Plowman Craven Racing Team, has been unfortunate to have had his brand new team issue track bike stolen from the back of his car at the Scottish Track Championships, Meadowbank Velodrome, Edinburgh.

The frame as you will see from the picture below is very distinctive, not only by its paintjob, but also in its design & shape, and is a full carbon setup.
It is (as far as I am aware) one of only 8 that are in the UK at present, and was fitted with a deep section tri spoke front wheel, and a disc in the back. Both wheels are by Extreme. And the running gear was Dura ace.

Jimmy also lost a bag of multiple chainrings that were in a black CKT bag. A toolbox & digital camera also went missing.

If anyone should be offered this bike, or can pass me any information regarding its whereabouts regardless of where in the World it might appear, I would be very very grateful. And if you could pass the word around the cycling family it would be much appreciated

Better still if the identity of the thief is known and thier whereabouts & contact details could be passed to me, I would guarantee your anonymity and take great delight in retrieving our property personally!!!!

    In anticipation of your help

    Many Thanks
    Garry Beckett
