Shimano BB left hand cup upgrade

Anyone know where to get a metal cup to replace the plastic one that comes with the cheapo cartridge BB?

I don't think such a thing exists

I wish they did..but the un54 seems to be the only square taper shimano have available these days.

Just pick up a cheapie track BB at HH on Sunday... Job done! How was that headset, Steve? Any good?

i've got one of the cheapy ones that matches my chainline (118mm axle so i doubt a track one would fit) but it comes with a plastic cup. gonna take the metal cup from my tourer and swap it over, putting the tourer into storage anyway.

the headset has cleaned up lovely thanks, i owe you a drink for that, still need a crown race for it that fits my forks, 26.4mm. will have a look down HH on Sunday

Seriously the plastic cups work fine.
In the bikes I have used them on there have never been any problems.

until the other day, one kept coming undone cos the threads had worn doen to nowt. they don't like being swapped between frames!

furry muff, will stick with it then. Just that crown race to find now. Do you reckon they'll have such a part at the jumble? Never been so don't know what to expect. What time's it start?
