If you do employ me, I swear to god I'll do the job really well as maternity cover for 7 months, and then out of some kind of malicious spite, I'll drop 2 points during the 10 minute presentation part of the interview for the permanent post, and therefore goad you into employing an external candidate whom you have to train up, integrate into the team, and wait around while they spend 7 months building rapport with the teaching staff.
That'll teach you.
