    just saw this on www.bikemagic.com

Plug #1? and wankster at #41... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • i spotted a montague swiss this afternoon... i should wash my eyes out. 19th place

    WHAT no recumbents!!!

  • Yes of course, I too would put this in the top 50... WTF!?!?!

  • The list is worthy of creation, but the contents are worthy of excretion. It like a best 50 cars ever, without the original Mini, or the Deux Cheveaux. A list like this that leaves out the Moulton, is just funny.

    1. is the wrongster.
      wtf?

ames says: “The popularity of single-speed bikes is multiplying, and the Langster is my pick of the bunch. Its beauty is in its simplicity; without gears you’ll rarely need to take it in for repairs, and its light weight makes it perfect for zipping around city streets. The special London edition looks fantastic with a tube map and cityscape painted on the crossbar. For the price, you won’t find a better, lighter or sturdier city bike.”

  • Definitely a pathetic list. The Brompton should easily make the top ten.

  • #4 and it doesn't have a drive train - these are all the rage in baby-squirting-capital Stoke Newington, where the kids look at a 'real' bike longingly and you can see the pedal-envy in their crying eyes.

  • IndyBest is hosted at independent.net-genie.co.uk.

The registrant of net-genie.co.uk is an advertising company called AdGenie, which specialises in demographic targeting.

Are the Independent's Top 50s advertorials?

If they are, they should damned well be labeled as such.

  • the independent doesn't even make the top 50 of broadsheet newspapers in this country, despite the fact there's only five or so.

however, it is the favourite read of the geography department in my school, which says it all really. they like looking at the pictures.

  • On the Langster: "The special London edition looks fantastic with a tube map and cityscape painted on the crossbar. For the price, you won’t find a better, lighter or sturdier city bike.”

    FAIL.

  • i think this article is OLD and we already stuck the knife in the old days, all the good ol' boys.

  • What a load of shite

  • I'd just like to add that that list is total bullcrap.
No Moulton? No Raleigh Budgie?!? Plug (no offense) at no. 1?!?!

  • baby-squirting-capital Stoke Newington.

    Nice.
Goes well with London's Famous London.
Might have to start an LFGSS Dictionary soon.

  • i m surprised the peugeot carbolight is not there, even though it is an old bike it is amazing. i love mine it rides like a dream.

  • I'm upset. Everyone knows the Langster is #1.

  • Yes of course, I too would put this in the top 50... WTF!?!?!

The Puky's are actually really nice kids bikes.
Designed with the kid in mind rather than being scaled down mountain bikes.
    Back pedal brake FTW

  • On the Langster: "The special London edition looks fantastic with a tube map and cityscape painted on the crossbar. For the price, you won’t find a better, lighter or sturdier city bike.”

    FAIL.

quite untrue seeing as they have put the plug as no.1 at the same price..

  • oh dear. so this is what the worlds come to. a list of less then average bikes with mahoosive price tags and then chuck in a few nice bikes add a couple of SS's for the hipsters who read the indepentent for the irony of it and away we go.

does this really pass for journolism these days i really can't beleive that someone has sat down and complied this list from anything but the halfords and evans websites.
what a bunch of (pinch a hippy word) cockflanges.

  • Delighted. None of my bikes mentioned, I am totally vindicated.

  • This is so OTP.
