Don't know about bike parts but a lot of factories for clothing (including fabric suppliers etc.) go on holiday in July/August for 3/4 weeks. So nothing gets made/shipped till they come back.
China are still working hard through this period. They take about 3/4 weeks off for Chinese New Year. When all the workers go home to their towns/villages.
Would put this one down to coincidence and buying/budget seasons for retailers, maybe??!!

i do some work for dhl and apparently the chinese authorities are so prang about freedom fighters/terrorists (delete as appropriate) disrupting the olympics that basically every last thing going in or out is being inspected.

Salt in the wound! I've actually ordered the complete bike so maybe they've got one in stock but not the other... or Wiggle hate me?
Small Brown Bike though - one of my favourite bands!

Get one in any colour, take it to Armortex. They'll do it any colour you want. £60 or so.
Easy!

if you paid, they have a legal right to give up the goods within 28 days. this aint gonna happen. get a refund, head to your lbs and get them to order. i know that I.D. can be a pain sometmes but end of august is a joke. moral- support your local bike shop...

This boat still hasn't shown up... I got a mail from Wiggle last week saying they are still expecting stock in late August. Is anyone else waiting for anything to be delivered?

Ah. Charge Spoon. I didn't read properly, I thought it said Charge Plug. My bad!

It probably has something to do with Interbike happening in Vegas in September, thus impacting companies' looking to invest in restocking their older line rather than a new 09 line
A couple of weeks ago ordered a Surly Steamroller from Wiggle, went through the checkout, have been waiting for delivery only to receive a mail yesterday to say they didn't actually have any in stock when I ordered and won't until the end of August. A bit annoying.
Completely unrelated, I tried to buy some Charge bar tape from a bunch of sites... all of which were out of stock. I got a mail from Charge saying there will be more tape in stores at the end of August.
I was looking at a few other things on Wiggle and noticed they will all be back in stock at the end of August. However, Surly are distributed by ID and Charge are distributed by Hot Wheels.
Is it just a coincidence or does something awesome happen at the end of August?
