  • Well, at least for now... need to take the rear brake off and work out how best to remove the weld on parts on the frame... then possibly respray, although it looks much less nickable in present state. Anyway, before and after shots..

  • Those tube valves are something else !

  • that's awesome, you might find your rear wheel is running red lights even though you ain't

  • I like the photo.. but I would've taken the reflectors and lock off first..

  • To address all concerned:

    dogsballs: Pengy?
    RPM: explain?
the-smiling-buddha: Yes, it is my first.
    tynan: what else exactly?
Greasy Slag: old crank was bent to hell, cotter style attached jobby so it's in the bin..
hippy: I would probably rate my photo taking skills higher than my bike fixing skills, I'll remove my reflectors forthwith.

    Thank you all.x

  • According to urban dictionary,

    Pengy could be
a Adj. A term used to describe very potent Marijuana
b A penguin, usually a baby, which is very cute.
c Someone who is pigeon-toed or waddles like a penguin

    I'm rooting for b.

  • Ah, I've deciphered the red light jibe too, unfortunately the geometry of the frame is not something I can alter particularly, it was my dads bike from the 70's so it was the one bit I didn't want to change.

  • Oh, shame. Someone update urban dictionary asap.

  • Not much I can do about the clearance I suppose, bigger wheels? see if I can get another link out of the chain and set wheel a little forward. Shame.

  • Can't believe I missed one of the first proper outings of this fine new word.
    Bah.

don't worry about it, it's a perfect first bike to see if you like fixed gear or not, you have the benefit of a relaxing road bike with fixed gear to see if you like it or not, before moving onto track frame bike, pretty much what i did, just go out and enjoy the ride, after all, it's the ride that attrach us, not the look (thought a nice Nagasawa wouldn't go amiss...)

doesn't mean you'll have to sell your bike, you can keep it as a pub bike and such.

    it's built for comfort.

And like a man with a fat wife, you might not always get there the fastest, but at least it'll be a comfy ride and you'll turn up at the pub with a smile on your face.

It was a very very clever visual joke, it you look at your picture and imagine the two concrete bollards are unfeasible large tube valves you would have just enjoyed my brilliant visual joke.

    :P
