2008-07-14 - Rider Down, Gt Eastern St

Just got to work and saw a juggernaut with no trailer stopped by the intersection of Gt Eastern and Curtain. Loads of police and I assumed the worst.

Got a bit closer and there was a totally mangled bike that was basically scrap. Amazingly there was a girl lying in the road with a paramedic looking at her foot.

I couldn't believe she was okay as the truck was huge. Anyway, she was in full Hi-Vis and obviously wasn't seen.

Another 'Fuck Trucks' and be careful out there.

That's another bad junction.
Traffic gets really bad around there with people not having a clue where they're go and desperately trying to get in different lanes.
Pleased she's ok.

The only thing that the UK government requires for a person to be allowed to drive a car is the ability to pass a test, and not a particularly difficult one at that. The only redeeming factor is that it's a lot easier to lose a license than many other countries.

This one I did see, well, I saw the silver and blue truck cab, and some flashing lights, but maybe the lass had been moved by the time I arrived. There were quite a few aggressive drivers this morning, revving up behind you, just so they can join a queue that bit quicker.

Saw this too, didn't want to look. Glad she's OK. Ride safe, everyone.

had a t*sser squeeze me out of the middle of the lane this morning and almost clipped me as he overtook. I find when it's very sunny or very wet people drive erratically .....keep your wits about you.
