Half link bmx chain

  • i hear they are smooth ad quiet, but do you get anough links to fit on a fixie or do you need to buy 2 bmx sets?

  • Depends on your gear size and chainstay length but the Shadow Interlock II worked for me on the Raleigh with 46x17.

  • Half link chains are designed to make fashionable ultra small gears on bmx's possible.

Obviously, put one on your bike if you like them. But they weigh more, and cost:quality wise, I think youd be better with a regular chain. (especially if you have to buy two!)

  • yeah, thats what i thought, marek has just put one on, wil judge when i see it on tuesday,

i had one on my bmx a few years ago and noticed little difference, i only used it for the flat edge and grinding (or in my case folding chainrings

  • some friend of mine put one on his dirt jump MTB and he had to buy just one, the only thing is that they are weaker than a normal chain as the links are asymmetric...

  • I use a 'reluctant half-link' chain from wiggle on my charge plug and there was plenty - infact, I had to take some links out

  • I have been running a shadow chain on my BMX for about 2 years. I found them really strong untill you have to brake it. Even with the master pin it wasn't the same. Kept on falling to bits. I only got another one as I snapped every other chain I had in-between. They also demolish chain brakers.
