  • Shotgun!

  • Damn it

  • or Newport...if traffic is good its only 2.5 hours away...beautiful track, similar to Manchester, hire bikes are Pinarellos....think I've typed this more than once on this forum......

I could possibly sort out accomodation for 10+ people in newport, if you don't mind staying above a pub/club?

  • Will the pub be serving alcohol?

  • Of course! And a late club licence. Does that mean if you're tee total again by then you won't want to go?

  • No. I love drunk people :]

People seem to be worrying that the object they know and hate/love will be different just because he's sober, I promise I'm exactly the same. It's just if I'm sober I can actually remember the night before.

  • Frankly I've never noticed the difference when you've been drinking or not drinking!

  • Point and case.

  • Totally down for Calshot... Mini.Cooper's already got in touch with them for details...[/quote]

Sorry I should have posted the details I gathered right here ages ago but wasn't aware this thread existed (part time forumenger). Unfortunately I can not organise any events but thought the forum might like the information. So here you go. and a couple of pics.

    Thank you for your enquiry
Our charges for hiring out the velodrome are as follows
    3 hrs £101
    4 hrs £127
    5 hrs £154
    6 hrs £179
You must have a coach teaching the group who have been accredited to our track, if you don't know of anyone we can put you in touch with some of the coaches we use on a regular basis

During the summer months we usually have quite a lot of availability but from October through until February/March the track is heavily booked with cycle clubs. If you give me some suitable dates for you I would be happy to advise you of availability
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me
    Regards Gill

  • i'm up for driving down to calshot, could get 2 more in the car probably, leaving from east end..

  • Dibs. Will contribute for fuel and buy (after driving) drinks

  • those pictures make the banking look severe. I reckon this would be a great laugh. Much more chance of an accident though on that track I reckon. Would love to head down there early one saturday morning in the not too distant future

  • I saw this velodrome while looking at the rock climbing wall at Calshot a few years ago, and the banking is quite severe. The track is built inside an aeroplane hanger and is only 142 metres long. Looks like lots of fun.

  • i don't have a bike rack, maybe just better to rent the bikes there..? then i can carry myself + 3 in the car

  • i don't have a bike rack, maybe just better to rent the bikes there..? then i can carry myself + 3 in the car

Still dibs and if two others up for what I guess would be a calshot style induction! Gabes I'm sure I can do this any Sat.

  • is this early or late september ?

  • Why not just ride all the way there? Lpg did that last year

  • Hey guys, i agree with winston newport is a much better venue for this kinda thing. Easier to get track time and much easier to get too! Also a much better track to rid ethan Calshot, you will need at least one coach and I would be happy to do this

    Lee
