Cycling newbies + clothing

is it just me or do you some people lose all their common sense when they mount a cycle? I see crazy stuff like people wearing gloves when it's sunny and way to many layers.I wanna ask them what they're thinking and tell them that they're only riding to work - not going on an expedition.

1.Most people have no common sense anyway.
2.Gloves are generally acceptable all year round.
3.Too many layers is stupid, people don't seem to realise that cycling is exercise so you should dress for 5-7 degrees celcius warmer weather.
4.They aren't thinking at all.
