  • I used to ride my bmx brakeless until i got sick of wasting shoe leather, i did live in sheffield at the time though. I never had a crash though which kinda goes to show if your careful you can get away with it.

  • kowalaski, you have been officially chastised, let that be a lesson to you :D

  • there's nothing wrong with riding a brakeless conversion in my opinion, although i see that riding brakeless was originally from undrilled track bikes (in this social scene/movement/whatever it is)

Riding brakeless isn’t a necessity, its a choice

    +1

  • Had to see a man about a dog in K-Town at lunchtime.

    Vet?

Single speed, front brake and flats are for those who enjoy the true taste of road grit, when you see them comment on their sweet ride and challenge them for a race...

I have seen no-less than 3 of the aboves being pushed... PUSHED... up/down the hills of north london. if its for fashion get a frame several sizes smaller and attach it to a small chain around your neck?

  • It's never brakeless though... cos your legs work as brakes (well mine do, maybe some work better than others)

Riding brakeless isn’t a necessity, its a choice...?

Riding fixed is more a way of thinking and riding a fixed gear with out a caliper (what you all call a brake) is a way of thinking a little bit more.

    Each to their own.

  • I saw a clown climbing up a sheer mountain face with out a safety rope on TV...

  • hah!

    excellent..

    it's OTP and OTC

  • to take the mounted brakes off a conversion is a choice, not necessarily an unwise one; as many believe (as I do) that it forces you to become more aware of your surroundings and think ahead etc.
i have a conversion, with a mounted brake, but I choose not to use it, as for almost all situations I find myself in it's unnecessary.

  • Instead only try to realize the truth: There is no spoon.
