Wanted: Decent fixed rear wheel

Posted on
  • Hey, I'm new here (having thought it poinless joiing whilst living in Glasgow).

I'm looking for another rear wheel as the Goldtech I have is too wide at 130mm for the spacing on the frame I'was going to shift it to. If anyone has anything narrower (120 or 126mm) give me a shout please. No quando please.

Might be up for a swap if anyone's game. It's the pewter type and 36 spoke (I think) on a quality silver Mavic rim (no rust spots).

    Cheers.

    Andy.

  • why don't force the frame? also call cold setting

  • why dont you just by 120mm spacers and axle form goldtech themselves......and keep you old wheel as opposed to shelling out for a new hub????

  • Thanks guys, good advice. It's actually for a pal and I've lent him my Miche Primato until he gets another but he may just bite the bulle and get Phil to do the job if he's feeling flush. Or

Had no idea Glasgow had a scene, I mean, there's a few boys running around of course but copared to down here it's a desert. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong!

    Cheers.

    A

  • I second broken_77's advice - a wheel is for life not just for fixedness.

  • My Goltec has now been on five frames over the last four years at both 130 and 120mm. They are fricking awesome and indestructible, so I too would get the axle and spacer kit from BETD and keep using the wheel you have.
