i look on that site occasionally. i think its really hard to find a nice looking bike. i wish people would stop posting horrendous looking bikes on there. "this is my first fixie i just love the way it rides but unfortunately it looks gross. thought i'd share it with the world that i have no taste..."
sorry folks, i know taste is a personal thing but jeez, do they have to do it?
Watch it whatfriends or I will drop a Pengy on you.

ha ha that is amazing. i mean amazing that some dum fuck built it then put it on the interweb, chump. maybe they were an ex pat who used to strip and rebuild their rifle with their eyes shut and one night thought they'd build a bike with their eyes shut, ya know, just too see if they could. they failed. in fact why isnt thison the epic fail thread?

shit this deserves soomuch ridicule. i just realised the pump and bag means someone rides this. most likely commutes on it... i hope i see it real life one day and see what the owner looks like and how hard it would be to stifle laughter.

My personal favourite VeloSpace ever was when someone posted up a grainy mobile phone pic of a pair of stock Pista bars and a stem laying on his bed, next to his feet (which were in dirty socks, by the way) and claimed that it was his 'sick track bike' - because the rest of it was coming in the mail and he just couldn't wait to post up pictures of the parts he had already.
I noticed an Oakland A's cap in the picture, so I posted it on SFFixed asking the culprit to own up
and the entire VeloSpace listing disappeared. I felt a little mean, but what the hell. I also remember seeing one where the guy drew (badly) a picture of his 'dream fixxie' with a pencil. I thought that one was a joke until he updated it to a pic of the real bike once he'd built it and they looked pretty similar.Yes, I am a sad bastard with too much time on his hands.

is pengy's seatpost on back to front?
hahaha, didn't notice that before. lol
-
• #641
You can do that intentionally. Usually for TTing on a road geo bike. Cervelo's make a point of rotating the seatpost to increase the effective seattube angle and push you forward when on aero bars.
On this heap of shit though.,. fuck knows what's going on -

the clearance guys, that epic clearance, where you can put a pump between the frame and the wheel. WTF
-
• #643
Bet you thought skinny jeans would never come back though. Or neon ravers. Frankenbikes f.t.w. inna 2009 ...

that's because both wheels are 650's
and what's up with brakeless and flat pedals?

They'd be the most fuckugly bikes in the world.

That's somewhere down a looong list of crimes.

i just cannot get enough of the Pengy. there are so many things about it that are brilliant that i couldn't possibly choose a favourite. the idea that they hand-stitched the top-tube pad to match is almost too much to bear. there should be a Hall of Fame thread for the worst, best and most noteworthy posts on the forum, and Pengy should be first in.
-
• #649
Pengy was also mentionned on bikesnobnyc, so it's turning into a phenomenon... either a brilliant pisstake or else an honest vision of things to come...

I am definitely going Pengy in 2009, wanna' get in early on the Frankenbike scene, I am currently sourcing the right cirtus fruit for the grips.
