BRM shouldn't have told me about almost being run over by Gordon Ramsey.
I'm now singing the misfits with Gordon's intonation. -

Goldfinger is great, but if you don't want a bmx lever try a hinged road lever like this...

Nice one. That black tektro lever looks ace.
What about the actual brake caliper? Is tektro quartz ok?

i use a shimano 105 caliper with a Dia Compe Dirt Harry lever, works a treat

Last Caress, I've got a spare tektro and some cane creek cross tops if you want. I'll dig out a picture later.

Oh yeah? I'm all over it. How much you want?
Nice one.
And lastly - if I want riser bars, can I just put any mtb wiggly bars on to my factory fuji track stem, do you think? Are there any bars that might be better suited?
Thanks again for all the help!

Here's the tektro, need to dig through my flickr to find the photos of the cane creeks... but it'll help if you know the diameter of the bars you want to use, as some of them have shims, and some don't.
A Fiver for the tektro?

Pretty much.

Snowy - Tektro sounds ace. Is it black? Fashion over functionality once again.
Just got to buy some bars to make sure they're the same size. I can't find specs for the bontrager crowbar anywhere.

Yeah, the tektro and the cane creeks are black. I'll bring 'em to south beers next week and you can see which one fits the bars...

Is that monday? There's a great band playing that I can't miss on monday but once I've got the bars I'll pm you if that's cool.
Nice one!

Bontrager? why not try Diety Bars and cut em off
Or get some racing bars put them on upside down and cut the drops off from how ever far down the curve you want, Voila... mini bullhorns..

Those look pretty good. As soon as I can find out what size the stock fuji track 2008 stem is I can order some.
It will be standard 25.4, right? I know nothing about road bikes but I figured that oversized was more just for MTB components.

Found it on another thread and it is 25.4. Thanks for the help.

Aw, c'mon taggers - I did 'use the fucking search' and couldn't yield any results until the similar threads list showed some to me. Take it easy on a forum newbie.

Hutch is right.. several posts of abuse then a link to the search function.. but deep down we all love it
Hi!
I'm brand new to road bikes and have just bought a new track bike. I want to fix a front brake while I'm learning and cant seem to find a resource for a good lever. I come from a bmx background so I'd like something comparable to a one or two finger brake. Any suggestions of what and where to buy from in london?
Also . .
What weekly rides or meets start around east london? I see loads of people at the foundry so there must be some kind of organised meet, but they seem to be there drinking rather than riding.
Thanks for you help - see you on the road soon.
