    Yep.

    Media man
"What have you learnt over the last three days?"
    Cavendish
"Nothing. Don't need to learn anything."

He sounded like a sulking teenager.

  • Don't ask him stupid questions.
What do you expect, his flat stage chance for a Tour win was fucked by a breakaway.

  • cavendish was not a happy camper. lots of aggro in these sprinter types.

  • What do you expect, his flat stage chance for a Tour win was fucked by a breakaway.

Which the peloton could have caught.

  • cav got baulked in the run-up to the line, and none of the teams did any work to catch the break, hardly surprising he was pretty miffed

  • He needed to take a top down action to the problem.

  • was a great result tho. i love seeing a breakaway succeed. and they deserved it. big effort staying up for 3qtrs of the dist

  • Which the peloton could have caught.

If his team had chased, which they didn't, which is what would make him/anyone in his position pissed off.

  • The last few hundred m was excellent too. Super exciting to watch.

  • He needed to take a top down action to the problem.

I thought they had an 'idea shower' earlier in the day?

  • No, they were just 'rain storming'

  • I was also a bit unimpressed with Cavendish. They have only themselves to blame.

He has a very high opinion of himself. Which is good for a sprinter I guess, he needs to be a selfish sod to nick a sprint win.

My bet on Menchov is looking more dodgy by the day.

  • the team not chasing the breakaway is one thing but not going first over the line as the sprinters arrive something different where nobody could be blamed. he claims to be the fasted over the last 200m, well the old guys mc ewen and zabel still rock!

  • He is faster over the last 200m. There's more things to sprinting than outright speed.
Positioning is much more important. I wasn't watching but if he was blocked or his leadout failed or he was boxed in or whatever.. all these factors can ruin someone's sprint.

  • There for perhaps he does have things to learn despite what he thinks. Thats my point. No one is beyond learning something

I understand of course why he was not happy and up for an interview though. Time for him to touch base with the team and go on a activity holiday in south Wales to build the love within the team.

  • was a great result tho. i love seeing a breakaway succeed. and they deserved it. big effort staying up for 3qtrs of the dist

That's true enough - it's always a shame watching the peleton swallow up those who show some bottom.

He was winning sprints in the Giro. We will see I guess. If he keeps getting cockblocked (Onion Movie!) then it would appear he needs to work on his positioning, if he wins something then he's doing just fine.

I'm going for McEwan anyway, fuck this Manx whinger! :D
