Sailor jerry
I drank WAY too much of that on Friday night... Top tip: Don't go anywhere near this beverage after consuming scrumpy... Your brain will fall off... Who knew? :S

Why would anyone buy something called "Sailor Jerry"?
Does it contain amphetamines or something? What gives?
They may as well colour the bottle pink.. -

I thought you'd be into that hippy, considering your penchant for things maritime..

Craggy Range Te Muna Road Riesling 2004
and very nice it is too.
hippy i guess you have already tried westmalle? it's my favorite trappist beer. -

i drank way too much 'man-in-box' on friday night and have spent the rest of the weekend drying to recover.

Cheers RPM, I feel slightly happier now.
MrSmith, I have a box of Westmalle here as well. I don't have room in the fridge for it though so I'm working on drinking the rest before it goes in. Carolus Classic, Tripel Karmeliet, Rochefort 8/10, LaChouffe are my fave Belgian brews.. at least they are the ones I could remember liking. I tend to go "oh this is nice" and by the time I leave the bar I've forgotten what it was.. repeat ad infinitum..One of my fave websites: http://www.beersofeurope.com/

I've bought stuff from one of the guys in Borough market ages ago (I've only been there a couple of times) but there's a guy in Spitalfields who does loads of Belgian beer - Quaffs I think.
Grimbergen is often available in my Waitrose so when I'm at Dovetail or Dove or Lowlander I tend to avoid anything I can get easily. McChouffe is also quite nice - I've got some big bottles of that still and I had a look and I've got Westmalle Dubbel and Triple's.
Bit of a fan of German Weise/Heffeweise beers too although I've not had any for quite a while. Very gassy though so don't drink 'em fast. -

Quaffs is great. Super nice guy and girl. And they've started carrying Jever, which is pretty delicious for a standard German beer, as well as selling they're own brews.

My mate, who sadly just left work, knows the guy well. I'm never in the area on weekends though, hence the use of www.beersofeurope.com

He used to open up during the week (on Thursday's I think?) but, from what I've heard Spitalfields don't allow it anymore. Scared me at first 'cause I thought he'd shut up business.
