There are at least 3 people coming from Paris for the polo and probably 5, maybe ride back with them? Or make new friends at polo and have places to stay in Paris!
We're looking for housing for out-of-towners so maybe house the parisians when they're here and get housing when you're there. Email me if you can house them.

hang on... we can take bikes on eurostar right?
-
• #90
Yeah, there should be no trouble.
Despite it being the middle of summer our ski team still managed to get us and our ridiculous amount of kit (20 pairs of skis, 6 snowboards, servicing kit, other bags, 4 cameras + 2 steady cams) out to grenoble.A lot more helpful on the french side though!

• #91
so are we booking individually? and what time train going/ returning?
-
• #92
We have like 1 month to sort this out!
i think we should actually say what time we're going to leave and someone needs to take charge of organizing this so that at least some of us can book the time off work etc and book the bloody train!
i for one do not want this responsibility. :)

trained to paris last week, easy peasy, £30 odd
ferried back with mate in car, easy peasy (careful some are car only ;) )

okay if this is to run smoothly, people will have to put their hands in their pockets and start paying for shit early, this can't be like some of the rides where people put names onto list and then bail as time goes on, earlier you book, cheaper prices will be, and more train times to choose from.
Just did a quick booking check, mid morning start, not too late departure, and it spat back this. Price is for 8 peopleOutward journey
London St Pancras to Paris Nord
Depart: Fri 22nd Aug 2008 - 10:00
Arrive: Fri 22nd Aug 2008 - 13:17
Duration: **02h17m **£556.00Return journey
Paris Nord to London St Pancras
Depart: Sun 24th Aug 2008 - 21:13
Arrive: Sun 24th Aug 2008 - 22:34
Duration: **02h21m **£556.00Total £1112.00
So right now it looks like £139 per person, they did have a more than 9 people option, not sure if thats cheaper or more expensive as right now we only have 8 people on the train list.
So lets start getting the details sorted, are we talking horrendously early start, and as late as possible return, how are people gonna get to and from St Pancras? Does everyone have a bike bag to put bike in? Where are people going to be staying and how much do you want to pay?
Lets put heads together and figure it out. I'd say we'll want to book tickets by no later than the end of this month and accommodation about the same time as well.I don't really want to be organising this, but will do if I have to as I want to ride in Paris. Anyone else up for searching internet, finding out information, raise your hands and send me a PM, lets share the load...

there is a seperate group who have HTFU'd and intend to ride to Paris, not sure about the return though, they have a different list, further back in the thread.
My plan was always to get eurostar to paris meet up with the fixed boys over there and ride and drink like a bastard in that great city.... -
