i just started fixed.. went from geared jump bike to ss jump bike to ss road now fixed, and touch wood fixed is the way forward for all of that.. no jim you don't get the speedy start off the lights (unless you go for a spinny spinny ratio - that shite is up to you innit :) but it's nice building up.. and i don't jump lights,., can't generalise like dat! anyway pedla stands are easier on a fixed! i agrees with others here that say that fixed makes you a different rider.. more thoughtful.. i'd like to think it's more gentlemanly atchally ;)
