  • +1 for pogo, it's great

  • yumyums in Stoke Newington doesa a lot of vegan food too. Tastytastydelicious.

Where is it? Church St? Which end?

  • @ Julio

    On the high street.

If you come up Ch. St. and turn left at the lights, it's about 50m down on the left; courtyard and fountain.

Oh cool, thanks. I love cocktails. Particularly cheap ones

  • what about the humus place near Euston station? pretty cool, and suitably hipster

New one to me. Where abouts is it?

  • errr.. looks at google maps you pass it going between Euston station and Waterloo

i seem to remember its along the Kingways (A 301), at The Stand end

its been a year since ive been there tho, assuming its still around

  • hehe, you have a point. sorry, im not a city boy, so my knowledge of London is limited.

worth a look if ur in the area tho :)

  • http://www.pogocafe.co.uk/ Object dragged me here kicking and screaming, but tuns out scrambled tufu and the like is quite tasty.

only problem is it isn't at all healthy and doesn't pretend to be. So while I suggest all go, its range of burgers and cakes aren't the way to detox heaven. And aren't detoxes meant to be kinda a daily maily myth anyways..? (to an extent..?)

  • if you're gonna detox....you're probably best off eating at home......

I'm banned from that student ac in pentonville road (you know the one, that have a new cycle surgery).

  • there's a posh burger shop on marlybone high street called eat and two veg (har har). full of boogaloo baby carriages, but the food's good.

  • Don'r know what part of London you're in but: http://www.safrestaurant.co.uk/ on Curtain Rd EC2, seems very very healthy, even for a vegan place - loads of their stuff is raw so I bet it'd be great for detoxing.

Also both branches of Damascu Bite (one on Brick Lane, the other near top of Bishopsgate) do a massive selection of Syrian vegan food (and some meat dishes for non-vegans too of course).

As already mentioned (I think...) Red Veg and Veg Veg in Soho as well. There's a vegan Chinese place on Holloway Road too.

    Is there?

  • vita organic is amazing for this,

    near archway station

    Is there?

  • I used to go to some place called the 'Bonnington Cafe' over down in Vauxhall years ago. Pretty sure its a vegan type deal. No menu, just whatever they happen to be cooking that night. I remember it being a pretty cool place. You used to be able to 'smoke' there too. I guess not anymore since the ban. I seem to remember its BYO booze as well.

** edit : yep.. it still exists - http://s208303316.websitehome.co.uk/index.html . go check it out, its unlike pretty much any other restaurant i've ever been to **

  • oh that bonnington cafe place is f*cking amazing! i used to date someone who lived near there and went all the time. i haven't been in years and totally forgot it existed, it's genius! go, go! i'm there this weekend for sure.

  • ...Wow i'm starving.

  • brilliant, thanks for all that, we want to eat a bit different since eating the same shit everyday just made us feel sick.

there's a posh burger shop on marlybone high street called eat and two veg (har har). full of boogaloo baby carriages, but the food's good.

yeah we've been there, great food, too many posh twats and women who put their nose up because I was wearing a fucking hoodie.

  • +1 for the Gate, Manna & Mildreds

Detox is total BS by the way. Properly functioning kidneys remove all the toxins from your system. If you want to eat healthy, then call it "eating healthy stuff" rather than wrapping it in psuedo science and enriching the likes of Gillian McKeith and Carol Vorderman in the process.

Carol Vorderman has a third in Engineering, and Gillian McKeith's bought her "Phd" which is why Channel 4 no longer call her doctor.

  • Detox is total BS by the way.

I dunno, I actually felt a lots healthier, waker up a lots easier, felt less bloated, still full of energy despite the small amount I've ate.

it make me think that human aren't designed to each red meat and the like, (not that it's bad for us, we've evolved enough to just able to bear red meat), luckily my favourite food is sushi.

mind you I still enjoy a nice fat sausage, bacons, chips, tomatoes, black pudding, hash brown, etc. all the bell and whistle enough to destroy the heart of a lesser man.

  • RIP Cranks

+1 for drummond street, Diwana is the one.

Also, if you're ever in that part of the world, an indian place up willesden Green/Neasden way, called Sabras I think it is.

    http://www.veggieheaven.com/uk/england/london/227/Sabras/

Have to say I have waited a **long **time there for food though

    anyone been here? http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/restaurants/restaurant-725.php
    Well central, never been...

  • just eat healthy. detoxing is bollocks.
unless you think of it as a "reset switch" to make you aware of what you're eating again.

that bonnington cafe place looks ace....
