i was loitering with a camera on the 3rd corner.

  • that was an epic day and one of the best organised through this forum to date. big thanks to the Soul Master General - teenslain - for persevering and getting us out there.

just fuckin loved the racing and seeing everybody going at it. seemed like some serious speeds were getting hit.

big up to all the people who came along and cheered and all that.

  • Whilst we're still basking in the post track day cigarette smoke, thought I'd pop in my tuppence worth on the races/race programme, so hopefully we can have an even better track day next time.
Obviously this is filtered through the prism of my mid to bottom table obscurity, but here goes.

Loved the Keirin, 3 Lap Sprint, and the Devil/Elimination. More of those next time round.
The scratch races were fun, if a little painful on the thighs, thought ten laps was abit long for the first scratch race, maybe 5-7 laps next time.
Also maybe we could do like a team pursuit/time trial, so we can get some more group rides going, so people have to work as a team to achieve a good time. And maybe longer, more structured gaps between the races. As there was a case of guys riding heats for the keirin and then having to jump straight into the final of the 3 lap sprint.

Just my quick thoughts. Onwards and upwards.

  • Looked awesome out there.
Pleased I came down to watch, though I was desperate to be riding.
Quite a contrast from the night rides to see you all clad in lycra!
And as for Dogs' De Rosa suit...amazing!
Few good bits at the jumble too...

I'll be sorting out my induction next week and get some experience together for the next one.
I'll post up some pics tomorrow too.

Well done to all of you. Good to meet Teenslain too. Seems he done a good job...;-)

  • thanks to teenslain for organising. really great day, loads of fun and as BMMF says... no crashes!

in terms of the race programme, i think it worked pretty well. I liked the longer distance scratch races, it's good to have them as there all ready a load of more sprint based events. Also, as cornelius says, longer or more organised gaps would be good... it wasn't much fun jumping from the keirin into the 3 lap dash final.

Really like the idea of a team pursuit, great to encourage people to work together a bit.

  • best pic ;)

"No talking at the back!" ;)

Yeah, apart from me. Good job I didn't make any of the photos, my sartorial inelegance would probably end up with someone describing me as a hobo. :)
