  • I was wondering, with pre-built fixed gear wheelsets (like all the Deep V's/DP18's on ebay) and off the peg track bikes, why is it that the front wheel is always laced up the same as the rear?

    I know *real *track wheelsets are little different, as well as wheels on any quality geared bike.

    Some of these fixed gear wheelsets are pretty expensive, should they not take the care to perhaps have 36 3 cross rear, and 32 1 cross/2cross/radial for the front?

    Or in the case of the 32 hole rears, have 28 spoke on the front?
