Cheers fred, but the issue is that the 10mm nut is two inches up a thread, so its the socket itself that needs to be that deep.

If you could see me right on Monday I'd be very grateful.

I actually have a 10mm long socket here, I just looked. but it needs the 1/4" drive ratchet and extension
are you sure it's not 11mm?
they usually are. often it's better to take the threaded bar out, cut it down with a hacksaw and use a spanner to tighten.
whereaboots are you?

I'm in Archway, N19.
You're the opposite side of Town, IIRC?

I am as far as it gets, in bloody tootin innit.
probably easier for you to pick one up in a hardware shop for a couple of quid, I don't think it'll be expensive. unless you are coming to HH on sunday?

Tooting, Surrey. Spent the first ten happy years of my life there.
I'll try and track one down. Thought it might be a bit of a specialist thing.
Cheers.

or you could cut the excess thread off. Possibly to save weight and shave a few seconds off your lap-time?

I refer you to my OP.
Gotta take it all to bits to do that.
Not high on this weekend's to-do list...
Has anyone got a super-deep 10mm socket?
ie like a spark plug puller but half the size.
It's the only way to remedy a plumbing fiasco at Kowalski Towers without major bathroom dismantling.
Cheers all.
