My girlfiend decided to put a bike together so we could go for rides together, and ultimately so that she could free herself from the Tyranny of Public Transport.
I suggested that something along the lines of a second hand Specialized Allez from eBay would be the way to go- cheap, nothing wrong with it etc etc.
So she went on eBay, and over the next few weeks a number of parts arrived at home.
An Omega Shadow Ti frame, a full Campag Chorus Carbon groupset, FSA Superlight R cranks, Vuelta Chromelite Race Wheels- you get the picture.
It’s currently sitting in the hall, and has been for some time.
The reason for this is because she has not ridden a bike for 15 years, and the Omega has pronounced toe-clip overlap, and “direct” handling, as you would expect of a 47cm race frame.
So- I am on the lookout for a 47-48cm complete bike, preferably with flats or risers, with a nice long wheelbase and NO toe-clip overlap so that she can have a potter about and learn how to ride again without scaring herself.
Anyone have such a bike?
