don't worry Intersection is saving some carbon by screwing up my subscription at the mo'.
:)
I got pretty excited a few weeks ago when i became aware of The Ride. I sent a "Please, Please, Please keep me posted" email. I'm glad to hear the launch is imminent and can't wait to see issue 1.

I'm really glad to see Philip's work continuing on this path. I met him when he did 'written in the streets'* and immediately knew he was a sound guy with great ideas and skills.

Good to see some familiar faces, well done to the Diprose boys - and other's who I don't know, sorry! - on the mag, and all who contributed. I love the classic shot of Rob Warner mid-air, sans-bike, in a truly terrifying position (Steve Behr; legendary MTB photographer).
Cornelius, as usual, all my ideas are now lost to the mists of time and alcohol, but this might help you out;

i was thinking modern bikes, fixed fixed, over any stage of the TdF, think a throwback/retro stage would do wonders for the tour as well as the riders, if you look at american sports, baseball, and basketball especially, they bring out throwback jerseys and team kits all the time, why can't the TdF do the same with merino wool jerseys, minimal logo's, riding a stage fixed fixed, it would be awesome...

It is a great mag, really lovely illustrations, nice layout, good solid articles, and it's genius having old nobbly knees Mike Kloser doing an article at the back. Haven't heard shit about him since I was racing MTBs back in '90!

I love the idea. A couple of years ago I did the eroica on a 1950 double fixed. (Flipped it twice. Too much work. HTFU.) It may have been one of the hardest rides I ever did. Downhill, gravel and 23mm tubs are not the easiest combination.
Ive been touting the idea of making modern riders ride the same way ever since...

Saw you trackstanding at Edgware road this morning
I don't actually cycle anywhere, just take up a position and trackstand till someone spots me. I was there 4 hours. 4 hours I tell you!... -
