I wipe my geared bikes chain down. Spin the pedals back a few times, wipe some more then while running the pedals back tip a load of finish line wet on. Run the pedals back more and then wipe off the access lube.
Finish Line Wet i think is good stuff. I have used it for a while and it runs my chain nice and quiet. Only takes a few mins' to lube up and clean aswell.
