I'm building a (literal) pub bike and I'd like to use a coaster brake. After looking around I'm going to go with the the Velosteel hub which Bikefix sell. When I've looked at Shimano coaster hubs, that's it. It's from Shimano, it's a coaster brake hub, that's it.
The Velosteel has choices of teeth, I'd like 16. But I also need to know the chainstay clip size (!?!) and the axle length I need. Since I don't actually have the frame in front of me as I've not ordered it yet, I don't know the sizes I need - although I'd like to get the wheels built before I get the frameset which will be a Surly Steamroller.
I can have either a 161mm, 171mm or 180mm axle. The chainstay clip can be either oval or round... I'm guessing round - and 13mm, 15mm, 16mm or 20mm.
I know it's a real long shot but could anyone offer any advice?!
