I suffer from knee pain as well. When I first started cycling Look had recently brought out they're first clipless pedal. They had no float. I used them for years. I honestly think that has alot to do with my situation now.
The advent of a degree 'float' in cleats has helped me I think.
I have recently had excruciating pain in my right knee more than usual, saw the Dr who said there is nothing wrong with it? I know that's not the case. Mechanically something is not right. The fact I am riding fixed gear as well as road bike, mtb, running etc probably doesnt help:)
The anti inflammatory creams seem aimed at the over 50's, in particular for sufferers of osteoarthritis. This is probably what I/we are suffering from. 20 years early:(
