yes those vids are ridiculous but what you have to remember is that they are most likely brakeless as well.
simple explanation of a coaster is you can travel backwards without pedaling, which if or when you ride one you will realise is much harder than it seems. when you "fakie" (go backwards) your bmx pedaling back gives a fair amount of resistance and can aid balance, same with simple tricks like 180's riding with a coaster means relearning lots of skills. also the gap in the pick up of the cranks is horrible on a gd coaster your talking about 1/4-1/3 or a crank rotation.
