Cheap Tubs

Having problems with cheap tubs!

second pair i have had and air is escaping through the side walls of um!

anyone heard of this? is it just cos they is cheap, or could i be over inflating them (i dont think i am) Just didn't want to buy expensive tubs to start with as getting used to the bike and messing around, skidding etc.

any advice would be great!

also the cloth bottom of the tire thats you stick to the rim is coming away from the tire. happened on the tires i had on it when i bought the bike but just put that down to them maybe being on there for a while. now its happing again!

They sound like naff tubs, in that case. I use a vittoria juniores (650c) tub @£10 each, no problems with it yet. I think you can get a 700c equivalent. At the end of the day though, I think you get what you pay for.

I've never had a problem with the Conti Giro. They were actually suggested to me by an Aussie track pro, said he used them for training tires. They've always gone on straight and not too lumpy for a cheapo tub. Nothing compared to a proper tub though.
I've used the Vittoria Rally 27, Vittoria's equivalent, and found them really lumpy and not straight.

Try SDeals. Just got some very nice Tufo's though they haven't arrived yet...(ordered them today).
They have a Tufo tub for £9!!! Cheapest place I found. Tax is added but still...
I rode Giro's for a good time as a cheap emergency tyre and had no probs.

Yeah thought as much! I was referring to the equivalent vittoria tub that mike mentioned.

Also, I've heard good things about the contis, but I think quality control is hard to judge on tyres. Especially contis! My gatorskin was SHIT.
