You'll probably get stung for import tax as well...

....got one sent over in february - just over $600 for the bike and $425 for shipping and then you need to pay the duty and VAT! Probably easier just going to Cavendish!

Out of interest, how much was the duty and VAT? I'll hit up Cavendish soon though probably, just need to try and get rid of my current bike! Thanks for the help both of you.

All I wanted was a IRO, just one IRO, and CAVENDISH wouldn't give it to me,
just one IRO... -

You could fly there and bring it back yourself for less. Why did you bother?

...is that @ me?
I got the bike from a guy for £275 in march! He'd imported it from the states in february 08 and had to go back - his loss my gain! He gave me the invoice from IRO with the delivery etc.

Here's my predicament, maybe those who've ridden an IRO frame can help me...
I'm not sure whether to go for IRO or Brother for my first build...
I really like the IRO's (Pro Mark V or Angus) but availability is scarce and I like the idea of supporting the British based Brother Cycles.
Has anyone ridden both or can anyone vouch for one or the other?

i've pounded on my Mark V for about 7 years. it's my work horse bike. barely has any paint on it anymore. dented all over. still going strong.
VERY common bikes in the states. i see more of those than langsters.
the geometry of all the bikes are identical. differences are in the material, head tube size, cable stops and fork.
a good frame with pretty, perfectly laid factory welds.
Has anyone ever imported one of their mark V builds over? I know shipping is ridiculous but it still works out nicely! Or would I still be better off getting a frame from cavendish and building it up?
I hate my Vitus, way too big and a bit too tracky for me, probably selling it soon!
Thanks for any help.
