I know, sad isn't it. Davis is one of the 'poor-man's' Tories, so I feel a bit better that it's not a stupid toff making the point.
It's quite an old fashioned stunt to force a by-election. I think Cameron isn't too comfortable with it - it could be great amunition for the government, however, I feel that the old, disgusting, slow machine that used to be the labour party will let it pass!
I hope Davis wins his seat and wins it solely on the 42 day issue - to make the point of how ridiculous it is.
I often wonder if we had a Tory government would we have a less American style??
