Train fare from High Wycombe is cheaper, for anyone wanting to ride more / stop early... I am considering leaving the ride at Christmas Common and heading east, gotta be back early :(
edit: still haven't worked out whether that's before climbing Christmas Comon, or at the top :)

The train from Oxford to Paddington can sometimes be hectic/packed with tourists and take ages - if it stops at all the houes....I'd suggest cycling to Didcot Parkway - about 10miles from Oxford then get the FGW train to Paddington, takes about 40mins. It's the fast train that goes to and from Swansea, Cardiff, Bristol etc...

through the night £10+1, I take the Merckx to London every other weekend on the Oxford Tube (though they usually limit the storage space to only 2 bikes per bus, so maybe better as a plan B if people want to travel back together as a group).
http://www.oxfordtube.com/oxfordtube.php# (High Street will probably be the easiest stop to go from.)Re: the £4 train tickets - check that there isn't engineering work between Oxford and Didcot (check the national rail website journey planner), because if there is they put you off on to a coach, but usually won't let you put a bike in the luggage hold :/

usually we go to the counter at station and get two for one, four for two deals, so it usually works out just as cheap as buying advanced tickets, sincemost of us a) don't know what time we're going to arrive at destination and b) how long we'll be at destination before wanting to return.
