  • Hi All

A local manufacturer has offered to build some wheels for me for free if I source the stuff.

So what do you reckon. It is for a road bike, I would like a flip flop rear so I can at least try fixed.

Budget for rear say up to £120 for the components

    What should I go for

  • no!
    fiddy dorrah!

  • but on a serious note. superprecise is right.
go for a fixed/fixed flip flop hub (you can put a freewheel on a fixed thread, but not vice versa).
system ex/formula hubs are also a good choice if you want something cheaper. goldtec are good if you wanna spend a bit more.

  • hit up e-bay for a campy record hub 36hole get a mavic open pro rim ( preferably 36hole too !! ) blue anodised and sapim heavy duty spokes and you'll have a wheel that even chris crash would have trouble troubling !!

  • and then get arup to build it up for you hey presto 10's of years of fixed riding

  • Thanks Guys
