probably has thin tub rims, which won't be compatible with a brake as well ;)

yeah, that's good value i think (?)
Do you have a picture?

I'd say 600 Euros is a good price although it clearly depends on the condition. You should be able to pick up a new pair of drilled forks for around £30 on ebay.

It has clinchers and 600 Euro is about four hundred pounds. Sorry no pics.

def good value then! know what the rims/hubs are?
-
• #7
Not sure about the rims, Hubs are Record. It is really clean, with a few scratches on the decals, apparently the guy is a collector and it has hardly been ridden.

unfortunately (for me, at least) 600 euros is about 480 quid these days.

yes the pound is losing value over the euro, sounds more accurate.

Ha Ha. I can just about afford it if I don't eat this month.

I've got one that I bought - a Pin track bike - for 600 quid from a bloke in switzerland - a pic is on my profile. If it's like that I reckon it's a bargin mate. Then again I may have paid over the odds for mine. :S

That's the one. The paint work isn't as nice but yes the same. Traffic is more erratic here in Spain so I feel I need a brake. Does anyone have experience with the Diacompe clamp brake? Or is it crap?

I've got one of the Dia-Compe clamp on brakes and I get along with it fine.

Thanks for all your help :) I'm gonna buy it. There won't be room in the bed for my gf anyway.

If you are not too concerned to maintain a tight clearance at the front, it is probably worth getting a good old chromed road fork drilled for a brake.
PS. If you want to get in contact with other fixed gear riders in Spain, visit our modest web page and forum at simplifika.tk (although it's been down lately). Alternatively, you can post any question on the classic bike section of the foromtb.com where there are few single speed and fixed gear enthusiasts too.
Good find.

thats because your sister and mum are already here ;)
Hi all. I need some advice. I have found a Pinarello track bike with Campy Record here in Spain. The guy wants 600Euros for it. It is good condition and about 15 years old. I want to ride with a front brake and will therefore need to change the fork, or get a clamp on brake.
Do you think this is a fair price for the bike and how good are clamp brakes for street use?
Thanks in advance
