Will hot weather and traffic make this a bad option?
Hot weather should make it a good option.
Would it be a bad idea if I brought a laptop with me to kill time (am I likeley to get "jacked")
It's not central Bolivia for god's sake !! :) Road wars is rarely filmed in London. Just take the same kinds of precautions you would take anywhere else, if you see a bunch of crack heads shooting up and sucking people off for a fiver don't sit down next to them and crack open a Powerpoint presentation you need to finish on your £3k titanium laptop.
Just hang around the nice parts, go and eat your lunch in a posh park or that kind of thing.
Oh, and anyone wanna "hang" with me, yo!
Depending on where you go I might catch you on film - from a distance (or a bush).
Have fun, P.S. central drinks start at 5.30 I think ? Try and pop down and grab a quick pre-talk pint.

if you were thinking more of a ride around than museums etc. me and 50/14 are going for a considerable roll in the early afternoon. Happy to take you for a tourist tour first, no problem. You're a Birmingham boy, as long as you figure most of it's going to be as intense as Smallbrook Queensway you won't have a problem. Plus traffic is theoretically more switched on to bike traffic here. (HA!!!)
Once we go for our proper ride we'll be doing our best to leave the traffic behind.
plus I just bought some handlebars in need of some grips..

racist
I think I might be coming to that Mike Burrows Bike Design talk tommorrow (10 june)
but its at 6.30pm, and I dont really know anyone down in "LDN" plus I have to be back on the last train, so no night time fun either.
SO will probably get there in the morning, trying to find some fun, riding my bike for the first time around London.
Can I kill a whole day doing this?

Got some brightly coloured keirin grips for anyone who might oblige...
