i went for a "gentle" club ride on sat with a friend with Finchley guys, lucky i wasn't a total beginner as 22+mph flat sections and bunch sprints up the hills was interesting.

Yeah, my arms are already quite tanned, relative to my baseline pigmentation. That's what you get with a Celtic/Cockney heritage.

Your leathery Aussie skin, on the other hand, puts years on you :p
