i think it's called 'hard chrome' or something, it's a lot thicker than normal chrome and it's mainly used in engineering applications where the parts come under a lot of friction and therefore have to be very hard-wearing.
try phoning tregunna chrome, in NW8.

As a solution it's dull. The end result may be fun but so is the elegant solution plus well, it's elegant and quite possible pushes technology forward.

I've found loads of companies in the U.S, but does anyone know anywhere in England that can do this. I have phoned a few places in Bristol and Birmingham. Unfortunately they don't have a tank big enough that will take a frame.
