im too lazy to read all the posts but heres my two pence,
obviously I commend any experiment of ideas for bikes, I spend most of my time doodling things.
That would not have made it to biro for me.
That locking system relies on using the seatpost as the main securing member.
IN the picture its actually longer than the seatube of the frame,
but lets just imagine its 20 inches.
Now most people tend to have an extremely thin walled lightweight alloy or even carbon fibre tube, which they then usually cut down to the required length to save a few grams - even on bmx's
Now for this system to have any effect you would need a 20inch+ thick walled steel tube weighing at least 2 KG the same amount as a decent bike lock.
Also it will only work with drop bars which are usually thin walled aluminium too,
plus by the picture it seems specific street furniture is required to secure the whole setup.
And last of all is doesnt protect your wheels.
(putting a key into your QR requires explanation - a silly idea)
Far more convenient,
lock it up with your normal gear to any old lamp post/railing.
